Water Plant Information

The contributing watershed is one of the most pristine available. The National Forest Service Boundary is located only a few miles upstream of the diversion point and the headwaters of the North Fork of the Shoshone River are located within Yellowstone National Park. No industrial land uses exist upstream of the diversion point and the Copperleaf site is the only remaining large agricultural land use between the diversion point and the National Forest Boundary. The other land use between the National Forest and the Copperleaf diversion is residential.

Our drinking water is supplied by three wells located on the property that are approximately 135’ deep, the water is chlorinated and stored in three 36,000 gallon tanks. Four pumps maintain approximately 55-pound pressure to the homes. The water system is monitored continuously by an automated system.

The Copperleaf Water System (CWS) is under the rules of the Federal EPA. Each year the EPA notifies us as to our testing requirements for that year and they require us to publish annual Drinking Water Consumer Confidence Reports.

Copperleaf is monitored by the EPA for our water treatment plant.  Testing results are available online on the EPA Region 8 water system website We are in Region 8 of the EPA and our system number is WY5601728 – Copperleaf Water System.
